Alert Kalihi check-cashing clerk foils forgery
A 47-year-old homeless man tried to cash a check at a Kalihi payday loan and check-cashing business, but was foiled when a clerk called the business that issued the check and learned the check was fraudulent.
The incident occurred at 5 p.m. at the Dillingham Boulevard business.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree forgery, second-degree attempted theft and an outstanding warrant.
