Kalihi woman allegedly stabs man during argument

A 24-year-old Kalihi woman is in custody after she allegedly stabbed a man during an argument Sunday.

Police said the suspect was arguing with a 36-year-old man when she allegedly stabbed him around 11:10 p.m. and fled. She was arrested about a half hour later on Dillingham Boulevard.

No motive was given for the incident, which has been classified as second-degree assault.

  • There are insufficient details (as usual) in this story to make a good guess so I’ll venture a mediocre one. After all the details emerge, the woman may claim self defense even if she used a knife against an unarmed man. This presupposes an “average” young adult woman versus an “average” young adult man. It all depends on whether a significant disparity of strength and size exists. If she actually is some kind of Amazon princess and the guy a real milquetoast, then all bets are off.
