High surf advisory in effect for east shores of all islands
Strong tradewinds are whipping up the surf, prompting weather officials to post a high surf advisory for the east shores of all islands.
The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday. Forecasters at the National Weather Service expect surf to reach up to 6 to 9 feet.
“Heed lifeguard advice and know your limits,” weather officials said, “When in doubt. Do not go out.”
