High surf advisory issued for Oahu’s north- and west-facing shores

The National Weather Service at 3:18 p.m. issued a high surf advisory for north and west facing shores of Oahu, Niihau, Kauai and Molokai and for north facing shores of Maui until 6 a.m. Sunday.

Forecasters expect surf to be between 14 and 18 feet along north facing shores and 8 to 12 feet along west facing shores, gradually diminishing Sunday morning.

Beach goers, swimmers and surfers should exercise caution and heed all advice given to them by ocean safety officials.
