2 lanes of Nimitz Highway townbound reopened after vehicle accident

A screenshot shows the two left lanes of Nimitz Highway near Sand Island closed to traffic at 7:34 a.m. today.

Police reopened the two left lanes of Nimitz Highway townbound near Sand Island after an earlier vehicle accident.

Police reported the closure at 7:21 a.m. to conduct an investigation. The lanes were reopened at 8:56 a.m.

No serious injuries were immediately reported.

    Subsequent reports said there is one person in critical condition and the police have to conduct a full accident investigation which is why it is taking so long to clear the accident.
