Police investigating robberies in Kapolei, Honolulu

Honolulu police are investigating two separate robbery attempts, one of which resulted in injuries to a victim.

A 30-year-old homeless man was being held on suspicion of second-degree robbery after he allegedly used force to take property from a 30-year-old man in Kapolei Saturday afternoon.

The arrest happened near the Kapolei Walmart at 4:45 p.m.

In another incident, police said a 19-year-old woman was injured Friday morning during a robbery attempt at what police described as a “Honolulu commercial business area.”

The woman said the suspect approached her, revealed a weapon and demanded her property at about 9:40 a.m.

Police did not give details on the woman’s injuries or the kind of weapon used.

Officers turned the case over to robbery detectives Saturday.
