Electrical malfunction fixed, Hanauma Bay preserve will open Thursday

Hanauma Bay will reopen Thursday after a contractor and the Hawaiian Electric Co. fixed an electrical malfunction that left bathrooms without electricity.
The Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation closed the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve shortly after 11 a.m. today following the electrical malfunction and pump failure.
The electrical malfunction affected comfort stations at the upper and lower levels.
