The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 79-year-old Waianae man, who died Saturday from injuries he received when he was hit by a truck while crossing Farrington Highway, as Robert Sadamaru.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.

Police said Sadamaru was in a marked crosswalk at 6:55 a.m. on Farrington Highway Friday in Waianae when he was hit by a Nissan truck driven by a 60-year-old man, also from Waianae. He was taken in serious condition to the hospital where he died on Saturday.

This is Oahu’s 19th traffic death, compared to 20 at the same time a year ago.
