Sen. Bernie Sanders picks up superdelegate vote in Hawaii
U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders has picked up a superdelegate vote in Hawaii.
The state Democratic Party has elected Sanders supporter Tim Vandeveer to serve as party chairman.
Vandeveer said Tuesday he plans to vote for Sanders at the Democratic National Convention in July. He says Sanders is better for Hawaii because he wants to close the gap between the wealthy and the working poor.
Sanders took 70 percent of the vote in Hawaii’s Democratic caucus in March, while Clinton captured 30 percent.
Hawaii will send 35 delegates to the national convention to choose the party’s presidential candidate. Twenty-five of Hawaii’s delegates will be allocated based the caucus vote, while 10 superdelegates will get to vote however they choose.
It takes 2,383 delegates to win the nomination. Clinton has 2,312 while Sanders has 1,545.

I hope the Superdelegates do the right thing. No games please.
Closing the gap between the rich and the “working poor” is ok with me — as long as they don’t forget the “working” part. Because the ever-increasing number of freeloaders moving to Hawaii will bankrupt the working class.
they will do the right thing and not vote for sanders.
Oh superdelegates know so much more than us common folk, that is why they get super voting powers. They are 1 in a few thousand, and we vote one in a few hundred thousand. Democrats should be ashamed of this scam, both major parties should be ashamed of the candidates they are presenting.
Que Sera Sera – whatever will be will be!
superdelegates do not vote until 25 july. therefore, the totals in this article are incorrect for this reason
This whole superdelegate thing is antiquated and reeks of elitism and inequality. The people should be the ones to vote rather than to vote but then only to allow the elites to select whomever they want regardless who the people vote for. This should be total democracy not elitocracy.
Sanders will close the gap making everyone poor.
Exactly. The goal of socialists is to make everyone equally unhappy.
