Big Isle woman shoots herself in leg while driving
A 39-year-old Kapaau woman drove off the Akoni Pule Highway on the north shore of the Big Island Tuesday night after accidentally shooting herself in the leg, Hawaii County police said.
The incident occurred at 8:34 p.m. and is being investigated by police as a traffic accident and is classified as reckless endangering and a firearms violation.
