Police arrest man wanted in attempted murder, sex assault cases
After a nearly week-long manhunt, police Wednesday night arrested the 37-year-old man sought in connection with a shooting in the Liliha area and several related sex assault charges.
Jorge Cano Jr. was arrested at 9 p.m. at in the 2700 block of Waialae Avenue near the Hawaiian Humane Society.
He faces charges of second-degree attempted murder stemming from a June 3 incident when a 47-year-old man went to Cano’s Liliha Street home and the two got into an argument.
Cano allegedly shot the 47-year-old man twice in stomach and left the area. However, the victim returned and police were called. He was taken to Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.
The victim is a friend of a 27-year-old woman who, police learned during the shooting investigation, had been sexually assaulted at a Waialae Avenue apartment on May 29, but had not reported the alleged assault. She subsequently told police that she had been held captive.
Besides attempted murder and three counts of third-degree sexual assault and first-degree sexual assault, Cano also faces a kidnapping charge.

I wish he fought with HPD, now it’s gonna cost us tax payers to house this career criminal.
Continuing to releasing people like this always results in more disaster.
it figures, you sure he not one of them in the Humane Society’s cages?
He looks like a nice guy. Let’s give him a chance.
“Cano also was wanted for a $20,000 probation revocation warrant.”>>> AFTER being arrested from his PREVIOUS warrant. Another one of those “Hope Program” winners. The programs where judges release criminals our on our streets to victimize citizens in “hope” that they don’t. Another fail…another victim. Stop giving CRIMINALS chances at the expense of the innocent.
Like a wife beater. once a wife beater always a wife beater. Once an alcoholic always an alcoholic. Should it be once a criminal always a criminal to be left behind sing sing’s bars
with THEIR kind.

In the near future I hope the death penalty gets instilled for all states then these perps will be given the death penalty. And not wait for years. Immediately. Save money and the prisons should be on the empty side.
