High surf advisory in effect through the weekend
A long period southerly swell prompted National Weather Service officials to issue a high surf advisory for south-facing shores this weekend.
The swell is expected to build tonight and peak over the weekend generating surf of 5 to 8 feet, forecasters said.
The advisory is in effect for south shores of all islands from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

What happened to the indication that south shore waves night be 30 feet or so? Everybody gasped.
