Man found dead in Kalalau Valley is identified

Kauai police today identified a 43-year-old man found dead about two weeks ago in Kalalau Valley as Sean Michael Rollnick.

Rollnick died of blunt force trauma consistent with falling off a cliff, police said. Foul play is not suspected.

The morning of June 11, lifeguards responded to a report of a body and found Rollnick’s body along a remote portion of the rocky shoreline near Kalalau Beach.

A few days later, Rollnick’s friend reported him missing.

Police said Rollnick was identified through his fingerprints. He reportedly lived on and off Kauai for several years and did not have a permanent address.
