U.S. marshals arrest sex offender in Waikiki

A 29-year-old convicted sex offender was arrested in Waikiki Wednesday by U.S. marshals for failing to register as a sex offender.
Justin Jumawan was arrested near Kalakaua Avenue just after 6:30 pm. on an arrest warrant for two counts of failure to register as a sex offender after he moved on Feb. 19.
Junawan was one of eight sex offenders charged with failing to register as sex offenders by the attorney general’s office on May 23.
Jumawan was required to register as a sex offender stemming from an Oct. 31, 2007 conviction for second-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault.

Always thought the registry was automatic, not that crimanals need to register on their own. Courts are very trusting with sex crimes, their rules are weird for crime at times.

Glad to see we have a bunch of sex offenders running around Hawaii. With those eyebrows, I wonder if he assaulted men? What is this disturbing trend of men shaping their eyebrows anyway? It’s eerie and quite feminine.
Conviction in 2007 and it took 9 yrs for this??
I might be wrong but I believe they usually register after they have served their jail sentence…..or that if they were from another state, they need to register again when they get here…
