Electrical line sparks Kalihi house fire

Three people escaped without any injuries this morning after an electrical line started a fire in the attic of a two-story home in Kalihi.

The fire was reported at 8 a.m. at a home on Hiki Street near Gulick Avenue.

Because it was an electrical fire, firefighters used foam and carbon dioxide extinguishers to bring it under control at 8:09 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the fire damage estimate is $10,000.

Three people were home at the time of the fire. They were alerted to the fire by the smell of the smoke and were able escape without injury.
