Domelynne Nash, wife of former University of Hawaii basketball player and coach Bob Nash, has died.
Friends say she died Thursday night in San Diego, where the couple was visiting family.
She had been battling cancer, friends say.
She was 65.
The former Domelynne Lum was a cheerleader at UH when she met Bob, a member of the celebrated “Fabulous Five” teams of the early 1970s.
“She was a fabulous lady, a real help to all of us and the program, and we will miss her,” said former head coach Riley Wallace.

The couple have two children: Erika, a former college volleyball player at Bradley University, and Bob III, who played basketball at UH (2004-‘08).

I think the headlines were tactless saying that she died rather than saying she passed or passed away instead…..condolences to Nash family…..

Absolutely, and usually the word “died” would be used when someone died in an unexpected tragic accident. A degree in journalism doesn’t always make the writer use the right choice of word. It’s about no common sense. Condolences and much comfort to the Nash Ohana.

Huh? She died. No euphemism can possibly take away the reality that that sweet girl has died.
SA seriously needs to send its staff back to journalism school, specifically to take Headlines 101. The headlines are frequently poorly written, inaccurate and/or in poor taste.
