Adele turns down offer to sing at Super Bowl; show ‘not about music’
LOS ANGELES » Multiple Grammy Award-winning singer Adele says she turned down an offer to perform at the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show.
The British singer told an audience Saturday at her Los Angeles concert that she was asked to perform at the event.
“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” Adele says from the stage in a video posted on Twitter. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.”
She adds: “I’m sorry, but maybe next time.”
Performers at previous halftime shows have included Beyonce, Madonna, the Rolling Stones and Prince.

The Super Bowl organizers are not to bright. The half time show is supposed to be a SHOW not a concert. You need exciting entertainment not someone standing there singing.
Lets pray that the NFL doesn’t choose performers like the Cop hating/BLM thug Beyonce. Such a disgraceful person.
Amen to that…and if not for Bruno Mars, the halftime show would have been a disaster. Sorry Coldplay fans but they looked like they were celebrating the Hunchback.
Maybe this was a good deal Adele turned down the NFL. At least we won’t see her “Flipping the Bird ” on National TV…….btw ? Who’s their Scout for selecting these bad choices of performers?
Love the NFL, but agree with Adele on this one. Wrong venue and setting for a superb artist as she. This is not a gig for her ballads and presentation. Bring back Bruno!
if wasn’t for half time show my wife wouldn’t watch it. Cancel the half time show and give me some peace! 🙂
Finally, an “artist” who refuses to prostitute themself for the NFL. Halftime shows are a bad joke, a disgusting yellfest of noise and talentless goons that have absolutely nothing to do with football, nor do they care. Why not have a pee wee football game? I’d watch that.
Taylor Swift would be my choice.
Have Alex Boye sing his Lemonade or Shake It Up songs…..look for them on it utube.
The Super Bowl is never going to be about music so I don’t get that “I’m sorry, maybe next time” line.
The Super Bowl is about sitting on the sofa for hours, drinking, eating massive amounts of food, yelling at the t.v. because viewers are such great football coaches, and getting fatter. Don’t need halftime entertainment.
Good times 😉
She’s absolutely correct. The Super Bowl is about marketing products to a very large relatively captive audience.
Hello.
