Trump to black voters: ‘What the hell do you have to lose?’

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump arrives onstage to speak at a rally in Dimondale, Mich., today.

DIMONDALE, Michigan » Republican Donald Trump again made a direct appeal to black voters tonight, urging them to abandon the Democratic Party and give him a chance.

Speaking at a rally in Dimondale, Michigan, an overwhelmingly white suburb outside of Lansing, the GOP nominee argued that Democrats, including his rival Hillary Clinton, have taken advantage of African-American voters and taken their votes for granted.

“Tonight, I’m asking for the vote of every single African-American citizen in this country who wants to see a better future,” Trump told the crowd.

“What do you have to lose by trying something new, like Trump?” he asked them. “You’re living in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed — what the hell do you have to lose?”

He also made a bold prediction: “At the end of four years, I guarantee you that I will get over 95 percent of the African-American vote. I promise you.”

Most polls show Trump trailing Clinton significantly among black voters. President Barack Obama won roughly 93 percent of black voters in his re-election campaign in 2012.

But Trump once again accused Clinton of “bigotry,” claiming she sees African-Americans “only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future,”

And he painted a dismal role of life for African-Americans in the workforce, declaring that, in cities like Detroit, they “have become refugees in their own country.”

On Twitter, the Clinton campaign responded, “This is so ignorant it’s staggering.”

The Clinton campaign’s Marlon Marshall added in a statement: “Donald Trump asks what the African-American community has to lose by voting for him. The answer is everything from a man who questions the citizenship of the first African-American President, courts white supremacists, and has been sued for housing discrimination against communities of color.”

Marshall said, “Trump painting the entire community as living in poverty with no jobs continues to show he is completely out of touch with the African-American community.”

You need to learn how Presidential elections work. The electoral college is the only thing that matters – not the popular vote. Mr. Trump has an essentially impossible path to winning.

        • Ronin006 says:

Klastri, you need to learn how Presidential elections work. The Electoral College is not the only thing that matters. Popular vote does matter because votes cast by electors in the Electoral College are based entirely on the popular votes in each state. Most states have a “winner-take-all” system that awards all electors to the winning presidential candidate. Two states, Maine and Nebraska, each have a variation of “proportional representation.” It is rare that a candidate with the most popular votes nationwide would not win the Presidency, but it happened in 2000 election between Bush and Gore and three other times in our history.

Ronin, with all due respect, you are wasting your valuable time and bandwidth trying to explain ANYTHING to Klas-less. Ever since he graduated law school magna cum clue-less he thinks of himself as omniscient when in truth he does not know his kiester from a hole in the ground.

Rightly suspecting that Trump will triumph in November he has embarked upon a campaign of trying to convince himself – – with a repetitious pattern of wishful hokum – – that Crooked Hillary will win.

The compassionate among us should pity Klas-less: he is like a man with one foot in a canoe and the other on the pier – – – and with each day the gap widens and his torment increases.

Klastri needs a lesson in basic human relations at a minimum. One can express an opinion without constantly insulting or ridiculing others who post their opinions.

Klastri can’t have very much going for him. Last week he said he was in Paris. He says he a lot of things, all figments of his imagination. He said his wife told him not to reply to me. She must be the lady in the rocking chair in Pyscho.

Obama is 50% European stock. How does that make him african-american? Since his father abandoned him ( 57.6% of black children grow up,fatherless and is that the whites fault?) -and he was raised and educated by Whites I call him European-American or mixed.

    • lespark says:

Klastri, You better hope your candidate wins or the welfare checks won’t be coming. You’ll actually have to find a job.

  2. 64hoo says:

trumps right, there are more blacks in poverty since Obama took office almost 8 years ago and there will be more in poverty if Hillary wins. because they are going to give more money to all these 100 thousand Syrian refugees who want to live here because none of these refugees have jobs. so the black voters will be left out again. muslims number 1 Hispanics 2 blacks 3 and whites 4. that’s why Obama and Hillary will help out the mulim’s most, so black voters you are now number 3. all because you don’t know that Obama is half white.

    • CEI says:

You’re not supposed to point out that Barry is half white. It ruins the 4 legs good, 2 legs bad progressive narrative. Somewhere along the line it became fashionable among progressives to demonize whites to advance the far left agenda. And so was born the BLM movement funded by a very wealthy, very white, jewish man by the name of George Soros. The goal of the BLM puppet masters is to stir up racial tension and division. Anyone ever heard the term community organizer?

      • 64hoo says:

yes Stalin was a community organizer.

        • 64hoo says:

and lets not forget that Hillary believes that it takes a village to raise a child. ( for those who don’t understand what this means, it”s that Hillary will come into you home and tell you how to raise your child-communism)!

        • thos says:

It pays to recall that both Hillary and the current occupant of the White House were devout worshippers at the altar of Saul Aulinsky who, interestingly enough, dedicated his book to his hero, Satan and learned his community organizer tricks by studying the tactics of one Alphonse Capone.

Donald Trump wants to be the next president of the United States. As with matters of such magnitude, it is important to understand where a candidate stands on critical issues, such as immigration, healthcare, domestic surveillance, marriage equality, abortion, and black people, who account for 13 percent of America’s population.

Here, a collection of quotes from Donald Trump on “the blacks.”

“A well-educated black has a tremendous advantage over a well-educated white in terms of the job market. I think sometimes a black may think they don’t have an advantage or this and that… I’ve said on one occasion, even about myself, if I were starting off today, I would love to be a well-educated black, because I believe they do have an actual advantage.’’
    (1989)

“Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”
    (1991)

“Laziness is a trait in blacks.”
    (1991)

    “You’re fired”
    (2004)

    “You’re fired.”
    (2008)

“I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks.”
    (2011)

    “You’re fired.”
    (2013)

“Sadly, because president Obama has done such a poor job as president, you won’t see another black president for generations!”
    (2014)

“Our great African American President hasn’t exactly had a positive impact on the thugs who are so happily and openly destroying Baltimore.”
    (2015)

“And if you look at black and African American youth, to a point where they’ve never done more poorly. There’s no spirit.”
    (2015)

“And, you know, I have a great relationship with African Americans, as you possibly have heard. I just have great respect for them and you know they like me.”
    (2015)

    Enough said …

(CNN)Donald Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, spent part of Friday touring flood damage in and around Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The visit drew a contrast with President Barack Obama, who was criticized for not cutting short his summer vacation in Martha’s Vineyard to visit the stricken region. The White House announced Friday afternoon that Obama will visit the area on Tuesday, after his vacation concludes.
The Republican presidential ticket traveled down miles of roads where the receding flood waters are leaving behind ruined homes and heaps of residents’ possessions.
After Trump and Pence toured the flood damage, they went to Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, to meet with Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, and Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief organization.
Trump and Pence also met volunteers and were cheered by the crowd in front of Samaritan’s Purse mobile kitchen. Perkins pointed out that Obama, in contrast to Trump, was not present.
The candidates later spoke with a Florida couple, Jimmy and Olive Morgan, who told them about their experience with the flood. They told Trump they spent Jimmy’s 79th birthday on a roof.
Trump and Pence then stopped at Denham Springs High School, where they surveyed the damage and met with a few people, including the school’s principal, Kelly Jones. Soon after, they traveled to nearby St. Amant and met with Ascension Parish officials in a trailer. Trump and Pence helped hand out supplies to the crowd and then Trump went into a room to thank National Guard members.
While in Denham Springs, he encountered a woman who thanked him for coming.
“We’re glad you’re not playing golf in Martha’s Vineyard. That’s all we can say,” the woman shouted to Trump.
The real estate mogul responded, “Somebody is. Somebody is that shouldn’t be.”

      • Tita Girl says:

IF I was Trump, I wouldn’t align myself with Tony Perkins. That homophobe is the one who says natural disasters is due to God’s wrath brought on by Gay’s, Gay Marriage and abortion. By the way, HIS house was wiped out in the LA floods last week. The Family Research Council has been classified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as an anti-gay hate group.

      • MillionMonkeys says:

The POTUS is faced with a natural disaster or other urgent matter just about every day. If he rushed to make a public appearance at each one, he not only wouldn’t have time to take a vacation, he wouldn’t be able to spend time at the White House.

Trump appeared in Louisiana because he’s falling way behind in the polls—and he’s scared. He hasn’t cared for anyone but himself his whole life. He plans to use this camera opp to show voters how much he “cares about people.” Then he’ll move on.

In a couple of days, Pres. Obama will arrive, bringing billions in aid. Trump will brag about being there first, but no intelligent people will pay attention to that. He’s FIRED!

It doesn’t seem to stop him from “acting stupidly” and making remarks quickly before all the facts are in.

anybody can make trump look bad with these”answer’s”; why don’t you tell us the questions that preceeded these answers that you are telling us. then we will get the full story.

      • saywhatyouthink says:

“anybody can make trump look bad with these answers”; – Trump is his own worse enemy, he’d be doing better if he just stuck to his vague policy descriptions and catch phrases as he did in the primary season. The more he speaks, the more trouble he creates for himself. It’s all too clear that he’s out of touch with reality sometimes but entertaining as hell to watch.

    • seaborn says:

Poor Sarge spouting his stuff. Obama stayed away from Louisiana at the Governor’s request. Having the President in town would require a huge police/emergency services detail, which would take those folks away from the citizens needing them. Out of respect for the Governor’s request, and the safety and security of the citizens, our President is staying away at present.
Ever the opportunist, Trump shows up, pretending he cares.

    • lespark says:

All true. There are exceptions but what he says is basically true.

  6. MoiLee says:

As usual Donald Trump is Right! “What do you have to lose”? Nothing! But so much to gain. Trump is offering “A Hand-up Not A Hand-Out”! Again “What do you have to Lose”?

Under decades of the Democratic “control”. How has your lives improved? Let’s see……
Record number of Black unemployment, Inner Cities and Public schools are suffering Big Time! In these Democratic run states alone. ie: Illinois,Chicago.Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Big Time!

Record number of Single Black parents raising their children alone.

Record number of Blacks in Crime and imprisonment .

    And my Favorite!
Record Numbers of people collecting Foodstamps and Public assistance. More Blacks living in poverty. More than EVER!
So ask yourselves “How have your lives improved”. Trump is Right …….Again!
How can anyone refuse a “hand-up in situations like these.

Btw. Have you seen the story here (lol) about ,Donald Trump and Mike Pence helping out and Donating Food to the Louisiana flood victims, while our commander in Chief is “out” Playing golf?
And only after seeing this, Hillary Clinton(Johnny Come Lately) decides to call the Gov.of Louisiana, expressing her concerns. Haaaaaaaaaaa! You can’t make this stuff up folks! Haaaaaaa!

Yes Props to the Trump/Pence Team for reaching out to the Louisiana Flood victims. For being there first showing compassion and understanding! And Donald’s “Big Heart of Generosity” to the people of Louisiana. Right On!
    Go Donald!

Trump was there for camera opportunity, nothing else.
The Governor asked President Obama not to come so that police and emergency personnel could continue their work for the citizens, and not have to take them away to provide security and services for the President. Very good call for the Governor, and great for Obama to respect his request.
I’m willing to bet a security detail had to be pulled away from helping the citizens in order to watch over Trump.
I hope Trump got the camera shots his team suggested, before he flies away and washes his hands on the whole matter.

      • MoiLee says:

        Seaborn.
So? You are sooooo ready to give Obama a free pass, based on Security concerns, but fail to give credit to the other? Remember GW Bush faced the SAME identical Security issues with Hurricane Katrina.Remember ?No? never mind.
        Ok that settles Obama.
        Whats your excuse for Hillary?
She dropped the ball, bro ,plain and simple! She failed to see this as an photo opportunity. This was a golden moment. AND Donald Trump saw it and just ceased the moment. Don’t blame him for being smarter than them.

      • Ronin006 says:

Yes, Seaborn, the Governor asked Obama not to come so that police and emergency personnel could continue their work for the citizens, and not have to take them away to provide security and services for the President. That is the exact reason the White House gave in 2005 for President Bush not going to Louisiana to see first-hand the effects of Hurricane Katrina and he was excoriated and practically skinned alive by Democrats and the media for not going. Why was it right for Obama not going and wrong for Bush not going?

        • MoiLee says:

Correct Ronin006. I said pretty much said the samething, but was “Moderated”. Haaaaaa! Essentially you are Correct. Obama gets a Pass,GW does NOT.

hiliar, a real racist, manipulated the public’s fear and intentionally caused a bill to be passed that punished black youths with extended sentencing. that’s how a real racist thinks and acts on hate and prejudice.

Simply look at the photos of who attends Trump rallies to those that attend Hillary rallies, and the answer becomes obvious: EVERYTHING.
If Trump really, really wants to know the answer to that question, he should attend a sermon at a predominantly black church, and as the question there. And, ask “Why doesn’t the black community vote Republican?”
“What the hell do you have to lose?” Their very souls.

The same Hillary that became rich, rich while courting foreign lobbyists? Don’t kid yourself.
