A man believed to be in his 50s died Saturday after he was pulled unconscious from waters off Ala Moana Beach Park near Magic Island.

The incident was reported at 11:15 a.m.

According to an Emergency Medical Services report, a lifeguard spotted the man underwater and seemingly unresponsive.

The man was brought to shore where lifeguards performed CPR until paramedics arrived to perform advanced life support.

The man was transported in critical condition to an area hospital, where he later died.
