Dwayne Johnson, left, and Kevin Hart present the best comedic genius award during the 2016 MTV Movie Awards in Burbank, Calif. The two are currently in Hawaii filming the sequel to “Jumanji” and will appear at “Rock the Troops” this weekend.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is keeping busy while in Hawaii filming the sequel to “Jumanji” on Oahu. He’s recruited co-stars Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas to join him along with a full complement of Hollywood stars during “Rock the Troops,” a holiday special set to air on cable network Spike TV in December that will be filmed Oct. 22 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

“The goal was to create an event that honors our troops and their families in epic fashion,” Johnson said in a release. “I (am) privileged to have this opportunity to salute America’s finest and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all their dedication, bravery, sacrifice and loyalty to our country.”

Also joining Johnson at Hickam will be actors Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Riggle, Scott Eastwood and Terry Crews; professional surfer Laird Hamilton is also scheduled to appear. Musical performances by Jonas, Flo Rida, Tenacious D, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Aaron Lewis are planned, as are stand-up comedy performances by Jeff Ross and J.B. Smooove.

Admission to “Rock the Troops” is free and open to all U.S. military and Department of Defense ID cardholders and guests with a special event pass. Pass request forms must be submitted for guests ages 16 and up; download forms at greatlifehawaii.com and email to 647SFS.JBPHH.SpecialEvents@us.af.mil from a military/DoD email account by Oct. 20. Passes may also be obtained at the Nimitz Pass and ID Office from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Call 449-0870 for more information.

Many guests of federal employees won’t be able to make it because the Nimitz Pass and ID office can’t handle the volume of passes they need to manually process. Many picking up passes yesterday were told to return today because their passes couldn’t be found. Can’t blame them because they admitted that this is the first time that they had to face this kind of volume in a short period.

Unreal crowd on the tarmac. Was a lot of fun. Glad I left before the rain got too heavy.
