High surf advisory issued for Kauai, Oahu

A long period west-northwest swell is expected to generate waves from 12 to 18-feet high.
A high surf advisory has been issued for the west-facing shores of Kauai and the north-facing shores of Oahu, the National Weather Service said.
The advisory is in effect until Wednesday at noon.
