If the wild and unpredictable run-up to Tuesday’s general election has turned you into a political junkie, pick up Rick Tsujimura’s new book, “Campaign Hawai‘i: An Inside Look at Politics in Paradise” (Watermark, $17.95).
Tsujimura is a campaign veteran, having worked for Govs. John Burns, George Ariyoshi and Ben Cayetano and running campaigns for Eileen Anderson, Arnold Morgado, Jeremy Harris, Randy Iwase, Neil Abercrombie and Kirk Caldwell. The attorney shares insider stories of life on the campaign trail, including “the backroom strategizing, ethnic voting and mud-slinging, the exhilaration of victory and the disappointment of defeat on election night,” according to a news release.
The author will sign books from 5 to 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at Barnes & Noble Ala Moana, with a portion of sales benefiting PBS Hawaii.
