Indiana forward OG Anunoby (3) attempts to drive past Kansas forward Carlton Bragg Jr. (15) in the first half of an NCAA college basketball game at the Armed Forces Classic.

Behind some late points from guard Curtis Jones, No. 11 Indiana upset No. 3 Kansas 103-99 in the second game of the season-opening Armed Forces Classic tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

After 17 lead changes, James Blackmon Jr. and Jones hit consecutive 3s to give the Hoosiers the lead for good early in the extra period. Jones closed it out with two free throws and a leak-out dunk to seal it and finished with 15 points.

Blackmon scored 22 of his 26 points after halftime.

Kansas point guard Frank Mason III scored 30 points, dished nine assists and grabbed seven rebounds in the loss. He was one of seven players to foul out in the foul-ridden contest.

Blackmon put his team up 89-87 on free throws with 13.1 seconds left in regulation, but Mason answered with two foul shots with 2.3 seconds left and Indiana’s three-quarter-court heave at the buzzer was off the mark.

No. 10 Arizona beat No. 12 Michigan State 65-63 in the first game of the Armed Forces Classic. Event host Hawaii plays SIU-Edwardsville after 9 p.m. tonight in the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic in the Sheriff.
