Police have reopened South Beretania Street in downtown after a critical moped crash.

The incident happened at about 2 p.m. near Fort Street Mall.

Police said one person was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition following the moped and vehicle collision.

Officers closed two left lanes on South Beretania Street to investigate, but reopened them just after 5 p.m.

  • Hey moped drivers, you are not a motorcycle, or a bike. Sure you see a position to pull in front of a vehicle but our vehicles have a better throttle and we are already accelerating to open roads.
    Keep a wide berth moped drivers. Keep a width berth.
