Vehicle hits, seriously injures man crossing street in Kakaako

A 40-year-old man seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk at South Street and Kapiolani Boulevard this morning.
A 40-year-old man walking in a crosswalk at Kapiolani Boulevard and South Street this morning was hit by vehicle and taken to a trauma center in serious condition, according to the city’s Emergency Services Department.
The man was hit on his left side, was able to walk, but complained of pain to his left knee, said EMS spokesman Dustin Malama.
Paramedics were called at 7 a.m. and transported the victim to the hospital around 7:20 a.m., Malama said.
