A building north-northeast swell prompted weather officials to issue a high surf advisory for the east shores of most islands this morning.
Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Molokai are covered in the advisory, effective as of 6 p.m. today. Forecasters expect surf up to 6 to 10 feet along east-facing shores of affected islands.
The advisory runs through 6 p.m. Friday.
“Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution,” the National Weather Service said in their advisory.
