NEW YORK >> Leslie Jones sees no excuse for giving a book deal to the alt-right commentator and Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, who on Twitter last year so viciously harassed the “Saturday Night Live” and “Ghostbusters” star that he was banned from the social media site.

On Monday, Jones dismissed a statement from Simon & Schuster defending the widely criticized deal for “Dangerous,” a March release that has ranked high on Amazon.com since its announcement last week. “Dangerous” is coming out through the conservative Threshold imprint of Simon & Schuster.

Responding on Twitter to Simon & Schuster, which had said that any opinions expressed by Milo or others it publishes “belong to the authors,” Jones wrote that “you still help them spread their hate to even more people.”

The alt-right is a total disgrace. Trump needs to disown them. He cannot represent the majority of Americans with the racism and ignorance of that group. Why is Trump such a dump? Why is he so bizarre?

How can he disown them? They are his base.

At this point, anyone who watches his actions and reads his Twitter feed should be able to recognize that he is profoundly mentally ill with multiple personality defects.

I admit I am a political junkie. I have been reading for the past dozen years sites such as Breitbart and Red State on the right and Huffington Post and Daily Kos on the left. This means I have been reading columnists such as Milo Yiannopoulas on Breitbart and Kareem Abdul Jabbar on Huffington Post for a long time. I don’t remember Milo ever come close to making racist statements; however, I do know that he mentions that he was involved in the “Gamergate” controversy in which there was a verbal warfare between some gamers who criticized efforts to make gaming more political correct and so-called “social justice warriors.” Milo admittedly is a harsh critic of all types of social justice warriors who he believes are stifling free speech, especially on college campuses; they are members of the “regressive left, who shut down all speech with which they disagree.” Milo is a LIBERTARIAN, not a conservative, in this and many other aspects. He wrote a scathing review of the remake of the movie, Ghostbusters. Some of his followers admittedly wrote some racist comments on Leslie Jones’ performance, but Milo never did. This is not unusual; followers of political figures of all persuasion—right, center, and left—are free with epithets such as “commies,” “nazis, racists, etc. Milo is a provocateur and somewhat of a clown. There are many on the left who hate his guts and responds by name-calling instead of rational discourse. Unfortunately this is true of almost all political discussion nowadays, both on the left and right.
