Server Todd Kabela tended to a patron’s table at sunset at Michel’s at the Colony Surf in Waikiki.

Michel’s at the Colony Surf is Hawaii’s sole entry on the annual OpenTable.com list of the nation’s 100 most-romantic restaurants.

A Waikiki dining institution established in 1962, Michel’s has appeared annually on the web portal’s list for years.

In previous years, at least a handful of Hawaii restaurants have appeared on the list, including five in 2016; four in 2015; seven in 2014, and 10 in 2013.

OpenTable compiles its list from more than 10 million reviews submitted by site users between December 1, 2015and November 30, 2016.

The Most Romantic list is among a few top lists released by OpenTable each year.

I don’t like places where there is no prices on the menu. Sticker shock.

Must be based on how much biz it does with Open Table. Not romantic and over-priced.
