Hilo man charged in bank robbery
A 24-year-old man has been charged with robbing a bank in Hilo.
Toby K. Amuimuia of Hilo has been charged with second-degree robbery and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned today.
Police arrested him Wednesday in connection with the robbery at the 500 block of Kilauea Avenue. Amuimuia allegedly showed an employee a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No injuries were reported.
