Fire destroys Makiki home
Fire destroyed a Makiki home this morning but a man who was home at the time was able to escape uninjured.
Firefighters responded to an 8:29 a.m. alarm for the fire at 1044 Green Street, according to Honolulu Fire Department Capt. David Jenkins. The first unit arrived on the scene at 8:32 a.m. to the find the two-story home engulfed in flames. Nine units with 35 fire personnel brought the fire under control by 8:53 a.m., Jenkins said.
The man who was home at the time was alerted by a smoke alarm.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. A damage estimate is pending, but Jenkins said the home is “a total loss.”

I’m sorry for this man. I hope he will be able to build up what he’s lost. The article does not mention, but I hope there were no pets injured. I hope this man gets a lot of help to rebuild. Spiritual help is necessary too.
