Police: Waipahu girl, 17, caused substantial injuries to her infant daughter

A 17-year-old girl was arrested Friday for injuring her toddler six months ago in Wahiawa, police said.

The baby, a 1-year-old girl, sustained substantial, “non-accidental” injuries that were caused by the girl’s mother on Oct. 10, police said.

The mother was arrested Friday for investigation of second-degree assault and released pending investigation.
