Police search for suspect in attempted robbery at Iwilei Costco

Police are searching for a man wanted for attempted second-degree robbery at Costco Iwilei. He is described to be in his 20s, 5-foot-4 inches to 5-foot-6 inches tall with a medium build.

CrimeStoppers and Honolulu police are asking the public’s help in locating a man who is wanted for attempted second-degree robbery at Costco Iwilei.

At about 9:20 a.m. on Apr. 1, police said the victim was loading her parked vehicle at the Costco Iwilei parking lot with items she bought from the store when the male suspect allegedly entered her vehicle and grabbed her purse from the front passenger seat.

The victim held onto her purse as he dragged her to the ground. Police said the suspect fled without the bag in a dark-colored Chrysler 300.

He is described to be in his 20s, 5-foot-4 inches to 5-foot-6 inches tall with a medium build. Police also described him as having short black wavy hair and a goatee.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
