Police searching for suspect in Waianae bank robbery

This composite of security camera images shows a man who police believe robbed the American Savings Bank in Waianae today.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who robbed the American Saving Bank branch on Farrington Highway in Waianae today.

The robbery occurred at 11:08 a.m. at 86-120 Farrington Highway, where a male suspect handed a teller in the bank a note demanding money and saying he had a weapon.

The direction in which the robber fled on foot is unknown.

He is believed to be in his 40s, and is described as 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds with short dark hair and a tatoo on his right arm. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue denim shorts, black baseball cap and sunglasses.
