Wednesday is the deadline to sign up for an affordable three-week summer camp for high school students to learn about Arab culture, which is little known in the islands.

The cost for the day camp is $30 and includes breakfast, lunch, a field trip to Shangri La, plus a celebration dinner at Casablanca. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 5-24 at Maryknoll High School.

It will be led by Prof. Adly Mirza, who has taught Arabic language at the University of Hawaii and at Campbell High, and is a favorite among students. He plans to include music, dance and food in the curriculum while introducing students to the basics of Arabic language.

The Arab Culture Camp is sponsored by Qatar Foundation International. Click here to register.
