Master scissors artist Karl Johnson of Cut Arts Inc. is returning to Hawaii to offer hand-cut, original portraits. He completes his intricate paper art pieces in a matter of minutes — without the assistance of computers or laser cutting tools.

Johnson began cutting out images at the age of 9. He works “live” by simply looking at his subject and cutting out an exact likeness freehand with scissors. He has done silhouettes of children, couples, pets and more, and has created keepsakes at weddings and other private events.

He is offering sittings for two sessions, charging $30 for original silhouettes:
