Warriors choose four football captains
Quarterback Dru Brown, offensive lineman John Wa‘a and safeties Trayvon Henderson and Daniel Lewis were named captains for the University of Hawaii football team, head coach Nick Rolovich announced after this morning’s practice.
Each player was told to rank their top four choices from among the more than 100 players in training camp. Rolovich said Henderson, a fifth-year senior, received the most votes.
Lewis, a fourth-year junior, is healthy after suffering a sports hernia last year.
Brown, a junior, started the Rainbow Warriors’ last 10 games in 2016, amassing a 6-4 record, including a victory in the Hawaii Bowl.
Wa‘a, a fifth-year senior, is the Warriors’ starting left guard.
“I like that their teammates trust them,” Rolovich said of the new captains.
