Jaimie Gusman, a poet who founded the Honolulu reading series Mixing Innovative Arts, launches her new book “Anyjar” (Black Radish Books) this week.

Winner of the 2015 Rita Dove Poetry Prize and the 2012 Ian MacMillan Award for Poetry, Gusman will read from “Anyjar” from 3-4:30 p.m. Sept. 28 in Kuykendall Hall #410 at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, and during a book party from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 29 at The ARTS at Marks Garage, 1159 Nuuanu Ave.

Copies of “Anyjar” will be available for purchase and signing at both events, which are free and open to the public. Proceeds from a cash bar at the party will be donated to The ARTS at Marks, a non-profit organization.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated the wrong day for Jaimie Gusman’s book launch party at The ARTS at Mark’s Garage.
