Woman charged in Ala Moana Center robbery

Prosecutors charged a 32-year-old woman who struck a store representative during an alleged shoplifting incident.

Police arrested Marina Joanis 8 p.m. Monday at Ala Moana Center.

Police said she was seen shoplifting and was stopped outside a store by the store representative.

She then allegedly struck the 27-year-old man while trying to flee.

Police were called, and they arrested her on suspicion of second-degree robbery, a contempt warrant and unauthorized control of personal and confidential information.

Joanis was charged with the above offenses. Her bail was set at $25,000.
