Man arrested in Kaimuki after fatal fight in Waikiki

Police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of murder after a 36-year-old man he was allegedly involved in an altercation with outside of a Waikiki bar died at the hospital Tuesday.

Police arrested the suspect Thursday night in Kaimuki in connection with the death of the victim, who has been identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office as Dishaun L. Walton of Buffalo, New York.

Walton died of blunt force injury to the head. The manner of death has been classified as a homicide.

Police said the suspect and Walton got into an altercation on Sept. 20 in Waikiki, where Walton sustained injury to his head. He was transported to the hospital where his condition deteriorated. Walton was pronounced dead Tuesday.
