Local transit officials have released footage of Honolulu’s rail cars running under their own power for the first time on the elevated guideway.
The footage, shot today, shows the four-car driverless train heading east above Farrington Highway in Waipahu, according to Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation spokesman Bill Brennan.
It’s part of at least eight days of train-car testing on the guideway, Brennan added.
