Man escapes with minor injuries in reported Makaha shark attack
A man in his 20’s was apparently attacked this afternoon by a shark in Makaha.
Ocean Safety lifeguards were alerted at 2:35 p.m. that a surfer was apparently injured by a shark. The man had minor cuts to his leg and refused Emergency Medical Services assistance.
Lifeguards warned beachgoers and posted shark advisory signs, which will remain up all day.
Lifeguards will reassess the situation in the morning.
