Flash flood watch remains in effect for Hawaii island
A flash flood watch for Hawaii island remains in effect through late tonight.
The National Weather Service said an upper level trough will sink towards the island tonight, further enhancing showers. The greatest chance of flooding will be along the eastern side of the island, where recent rainfall has already saturated the ground.
Additional rainfall in areas that have been saturated could also lead to flash flooding.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may lead to a flash flood warning.
