The Hawaiian Electric Company says Kuhina Street has been reopened and all power has been restored after an outage today caused by a downed utility pole in Ewa Beach.

The downed pole caused the outage starting at about 3 a.m. today, affecting approximately 1,000 customers and closing the road between Fort Weaver Road and Pailani Street, HECO spokeswoman Shannon Tangonan said.

HECO crews restored power to about 570 customers within an hour and an additional 420 customers at about 8 a.m.

HECO initially said crews would finish repairs to the downed utility by pole 6 p.m. today, but the work was finished and all power was restored before 3 p.m.
