Crews replace downed utility poles in Makiki; power restored

Crews restored power to all 960 customers in Makiki after windy conditions toppled two utility poles in the area.

Shannon Tangonan, spokeswoman of the Hawaiian Electric Co, said crews restored power and replaced the downed poles at about 12:30 a.m. today.

The outage occurred after two downed poles were reported at about 12:50 p.m. at 1522 Keeaumoku St. near Makiki District Park.

One of the poles landed against a small apartment. No injuries were reported.

Crews restored power to most customers Thursday afternoon.
