Fire displaces Mililani family
Honolulu firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire today that displaced a family of five in Mililani.
About 30 firefighters responded to a fire in the 94-0420 block of Papolohiwa Street at about 8:05 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from a two-story, single-family home, said Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Kendall Ching.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, which heavily damaged the home, by 9:46 a.m. No one was hurt.
Ching said the family could not reenter their home for safety reasons and the American Red Cross was assisting them with emergency needs.
The cause of the fire and a damage estimate were unavailable.
