Man killed from SUV rollover in Pahoa

The driver of an SUV was killed today when he was thrown from his vehicle on Highway 130 in Pahoa.

The Hawaii County Fire Department reported that the man was traveling north on Highway 130 near Kalapana and Pahoa when he lost control of the vehicle.

The man, who was approximately in his 50s, was found lying on the roadway, and his SUV had rolled over.

The fire department said in a news release that debris was all over the roadway.

The accident occurred at about 2 p.m. near mile marker 21.

Police are investigating.
