New restaurant delivery service DoorDash launches in Honolulu

DoorDash, a national restaurant delivery service, has expanded to Hawaii and began service on Tuesday in the Honolulu area.

DoorDash, a national restaurant delivery service, has expanded to Hawaii and began service today in the Honolulu area.

From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., delivery is available to diners in Kalihi-Palama, Kakaako, Ala Moana, McCully, Moiliili, Waikiki, Manoa, Kaimuki and Kahala. Fee for the service is $1.99, no matter how big or small the order, and through July 5, customers can use the promo code “LULUDASH” to get $5 off an order over $15.

Turn-around time for deliveries is expected to be under 45 minutes.

Customers can see a list of restaurant deliveries available in their area by entering their address at doordash.com or on the company’s app.

After a few months, the company plans to begin expanding service beyond Honolulu, said Brent Seals, DoorDash’s head of launch.

DoorDash operates in more than 800 cities across the country.
