Police investigating 2 Kalihi robberies

Honolulu police are investigating a pair of robberies that Friday night in Kalihi.

Around 9:10 p.m., three male suspects took merchandise without paying from a retail establishment then allegedly assaulted an employee who tried to intervene.

The victim, a 53-year-old woman, suffered injuries from being struck by one of the suspects.

About two hours later, a male suspect displayed an unidentified dangerous instrument and unsuccessfully demanded money from a 37-year-old woman.

The suspect fled without the money. The woman was not injured in the encounter.

No arrests have been made in either case.
