Shark warning signs come down at Pokai Bay

Shark warning signs have been taken down at Pokai Bay in Waianae, according to Honolulu Ocean Safety spokeswoman Shayne Enright.

The warning signs were taken down at the end of the day on Sunday. They had been up throughout last week after a shark had been spotted several times. Lifeguards will continue to be on the lookout for signs of the roughly 10-foot shark in the area for the past week, she said.

A week ago, both a 12-foot and 14-foot shark were observed about 50 yards from the break wall at Pokai Bay.
