Bill Maher bringing Liebman, Leggero for holiday shows
For his eighth annual traipse through the Hawaiian islands, comedian Bill Maher will bring with him a pair of veteran female comics — Wendy Liebman and Natasha Leggero.
For the past seven years, Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” has done a New Year’s Eve show on Oahu and a New Year’s Day show on Maui. This year, Maher is moving the Maui show up two days to Dec. 30. The concerts will still be at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center and Blaisdell Concert Hall.
Complementing Maher’s political humor will be two veteran female comics:
>> Liebman, who has mastered her delayed-punchline delivery across a 30-plus-year career.
>> Leggero, whose career growth as a standup has been matched by her rise in TV and film projects. She is co-creator and co-star of the Comedy Central show “Another Period” and has appeared in films such as “Neighbors.”
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, but the presale code RUSSIA can be used to get a two-hour head start online only (eight-ticket limit).
